The existing two-storey building was historically used as a shop and office, with the conversion providing two new houses.
​
The houses are planned to ensure all habitable rooms have genuine outlook with large windows providing good levels of daylighting. Rooms are sized and laid out to meet and exceed Technical Housing Standards.
​
Vernacular architectural characteristics and features are incorporated in the proposal such as arches over paired front doors. The design and materiality of the building has been carefully considered to establish character and identity, which will also contribute to a positive outlook for existing residents and allow the building to make a positive contribution to the street scene once again.
